12.0 Version Predictive Dialer Software uses complex statistical algorithms to try and anticipate operator availability. It is designed to place a huge number of calls in shorter time periods. It will place a call even before an operator is free but will calculate that by the time the dialed call is required to be transferred to an operator, one will have ended the previous call and be free. Unlike auto dialers which dial only after one call has been ended, predictive dialers eliminate the time wasted between dialing and when the operator actually starts talking. The system is built to handle placing calls, and all situations after that (answering machines, busy tones no answer) so that the operator doesn’t have to waste time doing these.

Average number of calls before someone actually picks up
Time required by the machine to dial and transfer the call to an operator
